Wavlink N300 directional extender setup – WL-WN570HP2

The WN570HP2 is not an all-around patio broadcaster: its directional antenna system is intended to concentrate energy toward a remote area or link. Aiming, grounding and cable routing matter as much as the web settings.

Use these Wavlink N300 directional extender setup – WL-WN570HP2 instructions to complete Wavlink outdoor N300 repeater first, then verify WN570HP2 waplogin.link against the exact hardware label.

Local-address check: Official WAVLINK outdoor help uses waplogin.link on supported models, but labels and firmware can specify a different gateway. This public website cannot open your device.

Complete setup procedure

Follow this sequence before using the detailed mode, placement, recovery and troubleshooting sections below.

  1. 01

Survey the target building or coverage zone first because the directional antennas must face the intended path.

  2. 02

Connect the outdoor unit to the PoE socket and the router-side cable to LAN while the injector remains in a dry indoor position.

  3. 03

Configure the WN570HP2 at ground level by joining its factory SSID and opening the documented local gateway.

  4. 04

Select Repeater for a wireless return link or AP for a cabled uplink, then enter the host network settings required by that mode.

  5. 05

Confirm internet access and local management before installing the mounting hardware.

  6. 06

Aim the unit in small increments while measuring stability from both ends; do not rely only on the strongest displayed signal.

  7. 07

Weatherproof the outdoor cable entry, protect the cable run and record the final management IP.

Before you continue: Use the address, PoE specification, default SSID and reset timing printed for the exact hardware revision. This independent website cannot connect to or configure the device remotely.

01

Choose a target direction before opening the box

Choose a clear line toward the coverage zone and avoid aiming through dense trees, metal roofs or reinforced walls.

Expected result: The complete WN570HP2 label, radio class and hardware suffix have been recorded before configuration.

02

Ground the installation and isolate the indoor PoE equipment

Install the grounding connection specified by the manufacturer and keep the adapter and injector protected indoors.

Expected result: The WN570HP2 starts normally and the selected PoE or power path remains stable.

03

Reach the local page from the radio side of the injector

Power the radio from the PoE port, join its factory SSID and use waplogin.link or the gateway printed for the revision.

Expected result: The private WN570HP2 management page opens from a device connected to its local setup network.

04

Build a directional repeater link without Ethernet backhaul

In Repeater mode select the router’s 2.4 GHz SSID; the Ethernet cable to the injector still supplies power even though no router data cable is required.

Expected result: The selected wireless, mesh or routed uplink reports connected after the WN570HP2 restarts.

05

Use a cabled AP for a remote building

For a wired outbuilding, feed router or switch LAN into the injector data port and select AP rather than Repeater.

Expected result: A client receives a valid local address and reaches the internet through the intended operating mode.

06

Aim in small increments instead of chasing headline distance

Rotate or tilt the directional assembly a few degrees at a time, wait for the signal indication to settle, then test throughput in both directions.

Expected result: The final mount preserves local management access, stable backhaul and usable two-way coverage.

Diagnose a link that fails after rain or wind

  1. Test the main router or upstream Ethernet independently.
  2. Inspect the PoE link, injector direction, cable terminations and dry indoor power components.
  3. Connect locally and locate the device through its current gateway or the upstream router client list.
  4. Restart without erasing settings. Reset only when the local configuration cannot be recovered.
  5. Use firmware exclusively from the official page for WL-WN570HP2 and its hardware revision.

Document alignment and grounding before leaving the site

Photograph the final bearing, tilt, bracket position, ground connection and cable drip loop. Directional systems can lose performance after wind moves the bracket by only a small amount, and a visual record makes later diagnosis much faster. Label the injector’s PoE and data sides so they cannot be reversed during maintenance.

Test from both ends of the path because a strong received signal does not prove a balanced two-way connection. Repeat the test in poor weather if the link is important. Grounding and surge protection reduce risk but do not make it safe to work on poles, roofs or external cabling during a storm.

WN570HP2 directional-link questions

Does the Ethernet cable remain connected in repeater mode?

Yes, the cable between the passive PoE injector and outdoor unit supplies power even when the router uplink is wireless.

Why does small movement change the signal?

Its directional antenna pattern concentrates energy. Recheck bearing and tilt after tightening the mount.

Is a factory reset the first alignment fix?

No. Test power, cable, router service and physical alignment before erasing a working configuration.
